never, never, never, never, never, never give up

I love that quote (from W. Churchill & Martian Boy). Do I believe it? Do I live it? Howabout: help me believe, forgive my unbelief!

I saw the sun shining today. It must have exhausted itself and is currently taking a breather behind some clouds. I haven't minded the snow. I have minded mucky, wet, cold days-when Colby & Brie go out and bring the outside into the house. How hard is it really to swiffer up puppy paw prints?

Doctor Dolittle Jane found a dog last week. I should say the lost dog found her. Happens ALL the time. She & Sean then walk dog around the neighborhood to locate its family. This time they recognized the dog (a small golden retriever/australian shepherd ish) and took it home. The neighbor confirmed its place of residence (the outside dog house) and name: Chloe. However, she begged them to give her a new home as Chloe's owner seems to have trouble with consistent pet care. The neighbor said she often feeds & waters & brings Chloe in. Seems Owner's last dog froze to death. Chloe has a limp from where Owner hit her w/his boat but did not take her to the vet.

Drs. Doolittle then spent the long weekend contemplating the best thing to do for this young dog, leaving her out in our back fence in case Owner went looking for her. Finally deciding on contacting the pound and giving the story the neighbor told along with name & address. She is currently at the Xenia Greene Co. pound and is up for adoption. She is adorable. She fit in so well with our family. She only had 1 accident in the house (outside dog). She caught on very quickly to our commands and expectations. She has a medium energy range. Not hyper, but would need place to exercise and a good walking companion. So loving. And she did NOT shed! She will no doubt find a good home very soon. So sweet. Don't you want to be hers?

new day, new start, grace

It is July. Bathroom remodeled. Ben's open house a success. New puppy Colby. Sean home. Matt headed to VT. Ben working at Barnes & Nobles (and CU). Amy dealing with being the youngest.

I am at times empty, frustrated, grateful, bitter, joyful, busy, lazy, trying, giving up, controlling, standbackish. Glad to be home for the summer. Wondering. Waiting. Hopeful. Nothing to stand on or boast about but Christ, the Living God. Who was and is and is to come. Glory. Grace. Undeserved but mine.

Chelse & Jimmy's wedding: sweet, simple, submission-mutual submission. good friends, the electric slide, mother/son dance, chacha steps, YMCA, italian sodas, love shack. footloose. Tried to coerce Sean into dancing. Probably not my best idea. Learn already melanie! Enjoyed my kids and showing off Jane.
Played fetch with Colby-catching on! Time for bed!

I need a fork and I only have a spoon

It is lunch time: chicken noodle soup and salad greens with bacon, dried cranberries, and balsamic vinaigrette. At my desk. Spoon but no fork.  I guess I will just pick at the salad with my fingers...but I am still greatful or grateful.

My sister's article will be published in the dayton daily news. Beefing up her resume and making extra cash. Smart girl. Really. I have always thought she was amazing.

"Rainy days & mondays always get me down."

Life is confusing. But God. He promises to be right there. never forsaken. Can't really do it on my own: clean heart, joyful spirit, contentment, wisdom. I've tried and failed, thankfully. Can't change others, can only concentrate on allowing God to change me. Log jam in my eyes. Deliver me. Renew me.

Ps 121:2. My help comes from you, the Maker of heaven & earth.

Welcome Back!

Thank you, Sean, for standing in for me while I was away.
What would you redo or undo if you could yell, "Cut! From the Top!"? Here is a small sample of my "do over" list:

1. Have more kids! They are so much fun-this is one way Jesus chose to fulfill part of his mission in my life:"to give you life, and more abundantly"
2. Cut out yelling at the kids I do have!
3. Limited the number of toys, clothes, clutter in the house. (This would have helped us all with #2.)
4. Believed the Holy Spirit was going to work with me to raise talented, fun, kind, smart, amazing kids, instead of being afraid that I was going to mess them up.
5. Quit being a control freak. (That would have helped with #1-4)
6. Taken voice lessons & ritalin from the beginning of starting our family.
7. Rejected fear as a lie from hell. (I would have still given Sean the lecture about driving without ritalin. )
8. Grounded my kids less (I'm not good at it), and encouraged my family more.
9.  Let go of the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to what God is going to do-as he is the future.
10. Wait...I can do all these now!
Your turn!
